A Boundaries Commission reviews the districts of the province, and makes a report to the Legislative Assembly of PEI setting out its recommendations as to the area, boundaries, and names of the districts of the province following every third provincial general election according to the Electoral Boundaries Act(PDF).
The last Electoral Boundaries Commission submitted their report containing recommendations to set out new areas, boundaries and names of the 27 electoral districts for Prince Edward Island on May 5, 2017.
